PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Minimize

If you work in a public sector information technology job in a city or county anywhere in the state of North Carolina, there is no better resource than the people of NCLGISA. I am honored and humbled to serve as your president this year. The collective amount of information, knowledge and wisdom in this group of people is unparalleled in this industry. Many times I have called upon the membership to guide me in both technical and managerial issues. I am pleased to give back my time and attention to the organization.

Please take a moment to look around the website. If you are an IT professional working for local government, you automatically qualify as a member. The members here that participate on the listserv and in our two educational conferences can be a great help for any technology related opportunity. I hope you will take advantage of this by networking with your fellow members. If you let your questions be known, you will get unbiased, quality answers from the experts.

If you work for or in IT staff /management withinNC’s K-12 school systems, higher education institutions or the State of North Carolina, you too can join us as an associate member. Out-of-state UNC CGCIO school alumni may also join as associate members.
Some of the many benefits of membership include technical and management training opportunities at reduced costs. You have access to the Certified Government Chief Information Officer s Certification program (CGCIO) at the UNC School of Government’s Center for Public Technology under the guidance of the director Dr. Shannon Tufts. In addition, you have peer-to-peer networking opportunities with individuals having like interests in the field of technology.

If you are a long time member, please know that I truly appreciate the value you have built into this organization by your participation over the years. I hope you will continue to be actively involved. If you are a newbie, just let me welcome you and say you will reap many benefits by giving your time and attention.
