One of the goals of NCLGISA is to provide avenues for its membership to receive valuable educational opportunities through bi-yearly symposiums, the UNC School of Government (i.e. the CGCIO program), regional workshops, professional development, etc. Therefore, NCLGISA offers scholarships to its eligible membership to assist in covering qualified expenses for lodging, registration, travel, and tuition associated with these training opportunities.
NCLGISA members have the opportunity to obtain the following scholarships to help cover continuing education costs. Click program titles below for more information.
NCLGISA Continuing Education & Symposium Scholarships: For members who would like to attend the symposium, but who lack the funds. Must be registered as a NCLGISA Member and logged in to access the link.
UNC School of Government’s CGCIO Program Scholarship: For members accepted into the CGCIO program. Must be registered as a NCLGISA Member and logged in to access the link.
LGFCU Scholarships: For LGFCU members who are local government employees. Covers tuition for conferences, classes and seminars offered by the UNC School of Government (SOG).
LGFCU Application Deadlines:
March 1 – Courses starting between April and June
June 1 – Courses starting between July and September
August 1 – Applications for Municipal and County Administration only*
September 1 – Courses starting between October and December
December 1 – Courses starting between January and March
NCLGISA Scholarship for College Students: Awarded to college students interested in a public-sector IT career. Such candidates must be sponsored by a government agency. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
NCLGISA Scholarship applications are submitted to the NCLGISA board members for review, consideration, and selection. Applicants will be will then be notified of the status of their application.
